If you plan to jump into the online dating scene then don’t be one of those people who doesn’t have a photo on their dating profile. There is little point in joining a dating web site without uploading a photo of yourself so people can see who you are. They say a photo is worth a thousand words, so it’s important to let the photo do the talking for you online.

Online surveys suggest that you will receive up to ten times more responses than without a picture! If you contact a person and your profile is without a photo you will be hard pressed to receive a response back. Would you look at a profile that didn’t have a photograph, probably not. Personally for me if I see a dating profile without a picture, I start jumping to conclusions like the girl must be fat, or maybe ugly etc..

When selecting a photo for your online dating ad you need to think about a few things. First off there are lots of single parents out there, men and women. Dating photos with your daughter or son might sound like a cute thing to do, but not for a dating ad. When you use a child in your personal ad you are sending a message that you need someone to take care of you and your child. Another mistake is using pictures with your pet. Personally it just looks cheesy to use a photo with your bird or dog on a dating profile.

I suggest you smile in the image, don’t look angry or grumpy. Iv’e seen some personal ads with pictures that resemble prison mug shots, not good. The last impression you want to give is an unhappy one.

Make sure you smile, nothing works better than a someone smiling, it’s much more inviting than a serious pose. Try to look natural in the photo you use for your dating personal, posed pictures look so boring, so go for the natural look. Are people on the Yahoo Personals or any online dating websites are a bunch of liars?

I heard that people that go on Online Dating websites such as Match.com or Yahoo Personals are liars. I had a former classmate of mine who is a liar and she goes on both Yahoo Personals and Match.com. She has a boyfriend now but I don’t know why she still goes on those sites still. Usually people who go on that site and found a mate already have delete their profile. And she should have delete her profile if she has a boyfriend now but she still goes on those sites. She told me before that she met her boyfriend at a party of her friends… Is that really true that people who are in a relationship right now are going to end up just because of those sites which are fraud. I hope so for her who is a big fat liar. I hope that she gets busted one of these days.

There is always a possibility of a liar. But its really no different than in real life. People lie about their age, their weight, their family, personal life, all to impress people.

Its just slightly easier to fake it online…but its still wrong.
