Ive started dating a man and hes revealed that hes muslim. Ive really fallen for him as a person and hes everything Im looking for. Im not one to judge about religion but I fear our differences will pull us apart down the track. Should I get out now before anyone gets hurt or risk all for the possibility of true love? Really, you should consider many factors. If you love him as a person, religion should be mostly irrelevant, but it also depends on how serious of a practicing Muslim he is. Does he pray five times a day? Does he fast during Ramadan? If he does, for example, would his fasting become an annoyance to you? Are there other cultural factors to consider? For example, is he of Indian/Pakistani background? Is he white/European? Is he African? You might find that cultural differences are more significant than religious ones. Having said that, I lived in South Africa for two years and found that the Muslims there are, generally speaking, some of the most open-minded in the world.

I honestly think that you should talk openly about any reservations you have with him, and if you are firm in your own faith, make sure he knows that so there is no pressure for him to convert you or for you to convert him later on.
